Heritage Open Days (HODs), England’s largest festival of history and culture, returns from the 9th -18th September 2022. This year, with support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, HODs is celebrating Astounding Inventions up-and-down the country. Each year, places in England throw open their doors and give people the chance to see hidden places and try new experiences for free.
Join in celebrating England’s rich history of invention, industry, and innovation with the 2022 theme of Astounding Inventions. Whether it’s transporting visitors back to the industrial revolution, examining the inventions that power our daily lives, highlighting the legacy of a local inventor, or showcasing cutting-edge innovations – this year HODs are inviting organisations and individuals within the sector to showcase the diverse tapestry of English inventions that make our world go around.
