One of our student members is carrying out research as part of the dissertation for a MA in International Heritage Management at the University of Birmingham and needs your help.

Janine, who also works for the West Midlands Historic Buildings Trust, is researching the demographic makeup of the volunteer trustees who provide such an invaluable service heading up organisations working to restore and maintain our built heritage. The research is particularly interested in quantifying the extent of diversity that exists on trustee boards and exploring any difficulties or best practice that boards may have in diversifying their members.

Janine is asking organisations working with built heritage based in England and Wales to complete her online survey available here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeQ8EPjs70yTSpFyJUVcM-eN5pQ-6mTHh_rdRbG4Vdm0Qpbzg/viewform?usp=sf_link.

She is also keen to speak in more detail to individual trusts about their trustee diversification joys or challenges. If you would like to get involved please contact her directly jxr075@student.bham.ac.uk
