Heritage Trust for the North West Appoints New Chair

The Board of the Heritage Trust for the North West are delighted to announce they have recently appointed a new Chief Executive Officer. Liz Moss, who is well known in the heritage sector, took over the position on 1st October and brings with her a breadth of skills and experience in heritage, building conservation and senior leadership in the cultural heritage sector.

Liz has worked for a range of high-profile organisations including Lakeland Arts, the Lake District National Park Authority, DEFRA, Wigan Pier and Holker Hall.

As Chief Operating Officer at Lakeland Arts she coordinated the final stages and opening of a £20 million development project – Windermere Jetty Museum and lead post flooding recovery programmes at Abbot Hall and Blackwell the Arts and Crafts House.

Liz currently holds a number of non-executive roles including National Trust Regional Advisory Board – North of England, Cumbria Tourism – Executive Board and Save Grange Lido Advisory Board.

The appointment follows an extensive search supported by a number of key stakeholder organisations and HTNW’s board are delighted that Liz will be leading them through an exciting new era for the Heritage Trust for the North West.

Liz will be building on the legacy at HTNW created by John Miller in his 40 years at the North’s leading heritage and building conservation trust. John established the organisation in 1978 and retired as CEO in 2017.

HTNW leads several significant regional projects and owns / manages over 30 historic buildings which include Lytham Hall, Pendle Heritage Centre, Bank Hall, Higherford Mill Arts Centre, Lomeshaye Mill and Middleton School & Methodist Church.
