Cultura Trust Launches Community Share Offer

By November 28, 2019No Comments

Cultura Trust (formerly North of England Civic Trust) have now reached the next exciting phase of life for Warwick Bridge Corn Mill. As the main building works and associated archaeological works have finished, and the millwrights have been hard at work completing the restoration of the mill machinery, millstones and waterwheel they are looking forward to getting the mill up and running as a commercial flour mill with an onsite bakery early in 2020.

This is where you can play a part. As part of the final stages of their fund raising they have launched a Community Share Offer, aiming to raise £120,000 to complete the fit out of the bakery space and give the community benefit society, Warwick Bridge Corn Mill Ltd, the operating capital it needs to start running the mill. The Trust has an established social enterprise on board to operate the bakery and provide training, volunteering and employment opportunities along with workshops in breadmaking and all things flour related. Miller Karen is looking forward to producing high quality stone ground flour, from grain sourced as locally as possible – supporting British farmers and spreading the word about “real” bread.

The community share offer is a time limited opportunity for you to invest in the future of this highly significant heritage building at the heart of the community. Full details are available through the project website – www.warwickbridgecornmill.co.uk where the application form, business plan and other background information can be found. You can also follow the trust on facebook and twitter – @wbcornmill and @culturatrust .

During the share offer period they are having two open afternoons at the mill –Sunday 15th December and Sunday 5th January – and would love to see you at one of them and show you the mill, talk you through the details of the share offer and you may even get the chance to sample some of the types of products we’ll be producing.
