This year’s conference is on Tyneside, one of the most distinctive urban centres in Britain, famous for its industrial heritage, stunning riverscape, popular nightlife, friendly people and distinct Geordie version of the Northumbrian language. Heritage Trust Network conference has an unrivalled reputation as an informative, inspiring, friendly and fun event. Tickets are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.
We will focus on some incredible community heritage projects in the North East, whilst also highlighting interesting work throughout the UK. There will be fascinating presentations from local community organisations and national experts on social housing in historic buildings, heritage apprenticeships, the reuse of churches, heritage careers, income generation, social prescribing and more.

Programme
Sunday – Join us in the afternoon as we explore fascinating heritage regeneration projects in and around Newcastle Gateshead, with walks and tours.
Sunday evening – Our drinks reception will take place at St Mary’s Heritage Centre, a Grade I listed building which dates from the 12th Century, and is now a unique visitor attraction located on Gateshead Quays. A light buffet will be available with local restaurant recommendations provided for supporting local businesses.
Reception drinks – arrival 6pm
Monday – Our full day conference will be held at the Newcastle Civic Centre, Grade II* status building. Working in partnership with the Architectural Heritage Fund we will be bringing you a jam-packed day where you will:
- learn from real-life success stories and best practice
- receive the advice and support you need to make your project and site a success
- find out about heritage regeneration and social enterprise funding and how to apply
- gain insight from experts
- connect with people involved in projects and sites like yours
- network with funders, Government heritage agencies, architects, solicitors, consultants
- become part of the UK’s leading community heritage network

Monday evening – Newcastle Cathedral will be transformed to an atmospheric evening for you all for our evening dinner kindly sponsored by our Partner Plus member Utility Aid.
Dinner – 7pm
Tuesday morning – Join us as we explore fascinating heritage regeneration projects in and around Newcastle Gatehead, followed by a farewell lunch sponsored by our Partner Plus Member Hayes Parsons, at the stunning Grade I All Saints Presbyterian Church. All Saints’ Church is the only elliptical church building in England, the third tallest religious building in Newcastle and the ninth-tallest structure in the city overall.
