Introduction to Heritage Trust Network Northern Ireland

Welcome to the Northern Ireland section of the Heritage Trust Network website. 

Northern Ireland is a small place – about the size of Yorkshire with a population of only 1.8 million people. We have a rich natural, built and cultural heritage with the wonderful Fermanagh lakes and Tyrone bogs in the west and an imposing Antrim coastline in the north which includes the Giant’s Causeway, our only World Heritage site. In the south we have the famous Mountains of Mourne and the Ring of Gullion as well as right in the middle- the largest lake in the British Isles, Lough Neagh...
